Methanol Moonshine Frank Cross Moonshine Ski Racing

Moonshine was a very, very fast Ski-Racing boat and team.
Between 1984-1991 this team had many big wins, but it could be argued that none were bigger than the Mildura 100 victory in 1989.
Moonshine outshone the big guns of the ‘100 and not only won their 6L class but also outright.
Suffice to say the victory from ‘outsiders in a 6L’ caused more than just ripples on the water.
Frank Cross (driver) Graham Mackenzie (observer) and skiers Ron Tighe and Dean Francis created history that Easter.
The Boat was a 1982 ‘19 ft 6” Connolly Craft with a Mercruiser Speedmaster one sterndrive.
The engine was a 366ci Chev that was built by Maxwill Motors in Adelaide.
It was one of the Quickest 6 litre Ski race boats at the time capable of 100 mph.
